Merry Christmas Everyone!!!
It was a wonderful week here in second grade! We had sooooo much fun at our Polar Express pajama party on Tuesday and at our class Christmas party today! I just love being able to celebrate Jesus' birthday here at school! We are truly blessed at NCS!
In addition to all of the fantastic fun, we did lots of learning! Here are just a few highlights of our week:

In addition to all of the fantastic fun, we did lots of learning! Here are just a few highlights of our week:
- Reading - We reviewed all of our reading strategies and continued our unit on camoflage with a selection called "How to Hide an Octopus." The children buddy read this selection! We read some fun Christmas stories, too!
- Math - We reviewed the math concepts we learned this semester.
- Science - We finished up our unit on outer space.
- Writing - We reviewed how to write a 5 paragraph essay, and then we wrote one about the Christmas item we brought in.
- Handwriting - We finished up our review of printing. We will begin cursive writing in January!
- Language Arts - We reviewed capitalization, punctuation, and base words. We also learned about declarative, interrogative, imperative, and exclamatory sentences.
- Bible - We continued discussing the very first Christmas and practicing our verse, too!
